Research Interests

I am an experimental particle physicist with special interest in colliders. I work in CMS Collaboration in Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiment at CERN, Geneva.

  • Interests in colliders: QCD, Searches for physics beyond standard model, Top quarks, Higgs boson, Standard model effective field theory, Machine learning …

Below are some of my major contributions

Precision QCD

One of my main interests is to probe quantum chromodynamics (QCD) at LHC using jets. I have measured the variation of cross section of inclusive anti-kT jets as a function of jet size. This measurement sheds light on the interplay of perturbative (parton showering) and non-perturbative (hadronization and underlying event) at different jet sizes. [Ref: arXiv:2005.05159, 10.1007/JHEP12(2020)082]

I am also searching for a new particle, W’, decaying to a top and a bottom quark with the application of deep neural network based strategies to identify jets containing the products of top and b quarks respectively. Both right- and left -handed W’ bosons with standard model-like couplings of mass below 3.4 TeV are excluded at 95% confidence level. [Ref: Phys. Lett. B 820 (2021) 136535]

Top tagger

I, along with two theorists, have also developed an algorithm to identify highly boosted top quarks with electrons in final state using jets. [Ref: JHEP 01 (2020) 170]

Two dimensional probability distribution of different jets

Dark matter models

I have also worked on the possible signatures of a two component dark matter model in colliders in collaboration with the colleagues from theory division. [Ref: Phys. Rev. D 100, 115050 (2019)]

Calorimeter calibration

I have also worked for the outer hadron calorimeter in CMS detector. [Ref: JINST 15 (2020) P05002]
